WOW: Lagos International Airport Gutted By Fire

An electrical fire was on Thursday morning stated at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

An onlooker claimed the fire started from some cables, which obviously melted under heat, as some welders were working at the extension of ‘D’ Wing of the airport.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Flight terminal officials promptly cut off power supply to the arrival and departure lounge, to stop any kind of adverse progression and isolated the setting of the spark.

Billows of smoke were monitored increasing to the sky from behind the arrival hall.

Fire men were also set up in the afflicted area and could put to put the circumstance in check.

Security guards likewise set up a metal barricade around the site.

Power supply was recovered to the airport terminal within a few minutes.

Flight operations were, however, not affected while the incident lasted.

In a separate incident, a freight plane blew off the roof covering of a parking area at the airport on Wednesday evening, creating damage to some vehicles.
