Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision and the Nigeria Customs Service on Wednesday at Mallam Aminu Kano Flight terminal apprehended Aminu, the oldest son of Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, over alleged cash laundering.
Sources at the airport pointed out Aminu was detained in the process of boarding an Egypt Air to Cairo by 12.30 am by authorities of the EFCC.
It was discovered that the child of the governor declared $ 10,000 at the counter, while more search and interrogation resulted in the finding of more $ 40,000 which was shocked in his luggage.
He was quickly apprehended by the EFCC authorities.
