The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, stated on Sunday at the 4th Annual Retreat of the Bankers Committee in Calabar, that the financial institution would start the effective application of the elimination of bank charges connected with using other financial institutions’ ATMs by consumers from next week Monday.
Sanusi pointed out, “We have settled a last day of Monday 17, December, 2012 for the kick-off, when every financial institution will drop the fees. We allowed time for financial institutions that have not configured their IT to do so and quit charging, and with any luck by 17th of December, you are not going to have any kind of consumer pay any more charges.”
