Apparent concerns took hold of citizens of Okota, a well known region of Lagos when thiefs penetrated locals of the region.
It was collected that the daredevil gunmen stormed the scene around 8pm the yesterday and hauled away over N3.5 M belonging a businesswoman.
A resident informed us that the female was taken advantage of after she changed her cash at the Bureau De Change in the region.
“We were all outside around 8pm since there was no ‘light’ and all of a sudden some guys came on a motorcycle and began shooting repetitively in to the air towards a an eatery in the region (name kept secret).
Some motorists left their cars on the road as they ran for safety.”
The onlooker included that after the thieves had gone, a woman began shedding tears that her cash was made off with.
“The lady was in her vehicle with the Mallam, not aware that the thieves were observing their transaction from a corner.”
It was after these men left that she began yelling that her over N3.5 M she just changed with the mallam from Japanese Yen was taken.”
Asked if anybody was killed during the incident, the source said. “Nobody was killed, but I suspect the robbers operated upon information. Because after the operation, they drove away through the Ago Palace Way.
She added that the police at the roundabout were nowhere to be found during the incident
