JTF arrests top boko haram member top Boko Haram commander, Habib Bama (AKA Habib Bama, Shuaibu Bama, and Habib Mamman) has been arrested by the JTF in Damaturu, Yobe state. Credible sources say he was arrested at a market in Damaturu where he went to purchase items in the company of some other people. Only he was arrested.
Bama was declared wanted on February 15 – 5 days after the re-arrest of another boko haram member, Kabiru Sokoto – and in connection with the bombing of Police Headquarters, United nation building, Abuja and St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Madalla, Niger state on Christmas Day. He is thought to have been the mastermind of the Madalla bombing and not Kabiru Sokoto as was originally assumed.Bama is said to be an ex-soldier and hails from Bama in Borno state.
